Bermuda – The World Rugby Classic again delivered on the promise of entertaining rugby from ruggers from around the globe and great camaraderie and entertainment that even mother nature couldn’t stop. The final four of teams for the Classic Championship were New Zealand, England, South Africa and Argentina.
In the first Semifinal match South Africa outlasted the England Lions 14-7. The Springboks came out with a blistering 14-0 start but withstood a furious challenge by the Lions in the second half to prevail. In the other semifinal match Argentina had little problems defeating New Zealand 47-14.
The Classic final again showcased South Africa’s staunch defense as they would shut out the Pumas from Argentina with a 12-0 victory. The Classic Springboks successfully defended their 2015 title with a 2016 victory. In the plate final France would survive against Canada 18-15. It was also a great week during the after parties in the Goslings Tent as fans and players in Rugby style celebrated a great week in the island nation of Bermuda.
