Thrash to the Onion Patch

The Newport Bermuda Race attracts fleets of more than 150 yachts and 1,200 sailors from around the world.  Regulars and first-time entrants are welcome to join this great ocean race, giving everyone an opportunity for serious offshore sailing and friendship enjoyed with like-minded competitors.

With the June 17th start of the 2016 Newport Bermuda Race approaching, boats are already entered for the 50th sprint from Castle Hill, in the mouth of Narragansett Bay, to the finish off St. David’s Head, Bermuda.

Organised by the Cruising Club of America and the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club, the 635-mile Newport Bermuda Race is sailed almost entirely out of sight of land and across the Gulf Stream, known for challenging weather where the currents are strong.

Gosling’s Rum is proud to be the Official Rum Sponsor of the Newport Bermuda Race. We look forward to seeing all Newport Bermuda Race sailors in June 2016 for the ever popular Gosling’s Rum Newport Shipyard Crew Party. We can’t wait to see you all again in Bermuda for the Post Race Celebration at Barrs Bay Park.

We wish all Newport Bermuda sailors a safe, fast and pleasant race to the finish.
