Portsmouth America’s Cup update

Portsmouth, England –
It was a spectacular weekend of racing action in the Portsmouth leg of the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series.

The Dark N’ Stormys were pouring and the race action was foiling!

Tens of thousands of fans came out to support their favorite teams. A thrilling finish to two days of racing climaxed with Sir Ben Ainslie’s Land Rover BAR sealing the deal and edging out Oracle Team USA,the defending America’s Cup Champions.

It all happened at the same venue where Britain’s Royal Yacht Squadron was famously beaten by the New York Yacht Club’s  ‘Schooner’ in the inaugural regatta 165 years ago. With the  Duke and Duchess of Cambridge looking on and with the record home crowd cheering on four-time Olympic champion Ainslie took his team to a  thrilling victory over  Oracle Team USA and his former team mate Jimmy Spithill.

The victory moves Land Rover BAR into the top spot over Oracle Team USA.

Next up is Toulon France September 8th to the 11th, the next stop in the spectacular Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series as the world’s best sailors on the fastest boats….seal the deal!
