One spot is set for the Challenger final

Great Sound, Bermuda – The most decorated Olympic sailor in history will no longer be sailing in the 35th America’s Cup. Emirates Team New Zealand led by Peter Burling made sure that Sir Ben Ainsle of Landrover BAR would not be moving on to the Louis Vuitton Challenger Finals. Team New Zealand had two wins in three starts to reach the magical 5 points needed to advance.

Emirates team New Zealand now waits for the winner of the Artemis Team Sweden and Softbank Japan winner. The day started with Artemis Team Sweden down 3-1 to Softbank Japan and their experienced helmsman Dean Barker. But faced with elimination, Nathan Outteridge and Artemis swept the day giving them a 4-3 lead and placing them just one win away from a punched ticket to face Emirates Team New Zealand.
