P.H. Horgan III has qualified for the 2017 U.S. Senior Open. P.H. is seen here with Malcolm Gosling after winning the Goslings Invitational.
The qualifying for those not exempt to the 2017 U.S. Senior Open at Salem Country Club in Peabody, Massachusetts is now complete. Some familiar names were able to play well enough to punch their ticket to the biggest major for those golfers fifty older. PGA professionals Ron Philo and Chip Johnson, both with impressive resumes as playing club professionals, succeeded in qualifying at Kernwood Country Club and are sure to have a lot of followers the week of the tournament. Former PGA Tour player P.H. Horgan III from Newport, Rhode Island will also be playing. Other notables who made the cut were former PGA Tour players Brian Henninger, Jim McGovern, and John Riegger. Native Baystater and PGA Tour player Tim Petrovic is an alternate after finishing one stroke back at his qualifying site. Former Ryder Cup player Steve Pate and former PGA Tour Player Jay Don Blake, former U.S. Open Champion Scott Simpson and multi US Amateur winner Gerard Courville all are alternates and are on the outside looking in.
Goslings Rum and Ginger Beer will be served at the event and is a proud sponsor of the 2017 U.S. Senior Open.
